Parkville Youth Justice Centre

PLEA runs weekly sessions with young people in custody at the Parkville Youth Justice Centre and the Parkville Youth Residential Centre. These facilities hold young men and women (aged 10-18) both on remand and serving a custodial sentence.

PLEA’s legal education sessions cover a range of important legal issues affecting young people in custody, including Dealing with Police, the Court System, Working with Your Lawyer, Sentencing and Family Law. The sessions run as interactive workshops, trying to break down some of the complexities of the criminal justice system, as well as provide tangible steps that young people can take to be proactive in driving their cases.
